21 December 2005 in the Ministry of Transport was held first meeting of the Working group on transport security within "Russia - EC Transport Dialogue". Co-chairmen were: from Russia - Director of Department Boris Novoseltsev, from EC - Director of Department of transport security Marjeta Jager.
Both parties have run the constructive and detailed discussion on organizational issues. There was first exchange of views on the achievements in the sphere of transport security on aviation and marine transport. The representative of the Russian Maritime Security Service reported about measures, taken in Russia to enhance maritime security. Afterwards the Parties emphasized the directions of co-operation on this issue. Parties agreed further to consider approaches and share principles, which were discussed on the meeting.
The Parties also discussed the agenda and draft declaration of forthcoming Ministerial Conference on international transport security (Tokyo, 11-13 January 2006).
